Shannon W. Harris, 84, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., born Oct. 25, 1924 in Bridgeport, Texas, passed away Feb. 1, 2009 at her home.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Services will take place at the Prescott Life Church on Highway 89.

The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.

SHANNON W. HARRIS, age 84, died February 1, 2009 at her home in Prescott Valley, Arizona. She was born October 25, 1924 in Bridgeport, Texas.

Shannon W. (Jones) Harris of Prescott Valley, Ariz. went to be with her Lord on Feb. 1, 2009. She went peacefully at her home while under the gentle care of Hospice.

Shannon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver. She enjoyed volunteering with Youth for Christ because of her love for children. Her joy in Jesus Christ impacted many lives with wisdom, joy and laughter. God gifted her with artistic abilities which she used to create beautiful ceramics, charcoal, and oil paintings. She was proud of being a commissioned artist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard H. and Gladys A. Jones of Bridgeport, Texas; Uncle Ernest Jones also of Bridgeport.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Cecil D. Harris of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; son, Phillip M. Harris, daughter-in-law Angela Harris; granddaughter Olivia Caroline Harris and soon to be born granddaughter Hannah Katherine of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sister-in-law, Sue Dixon of Missouri, cousins: Jackie and Diane Wood of Gladewater, Texas, Philip Amos, Mike and Diane Amos of Grand Prairie, Texas, Tommy and Billy Ray Benson of China, Texas, Carl Ray and Nevesta Jones of Bridgeport, Wayne and Alice Brannon of Decatur, Texas, Naomi Brannon of Dickenson, Texas, Ernest Perkins and family of Richardson, Texas, Opal Boychett and the Matney families of Haltom City, Texas; an aunt, Bonnie Gentry of Grand Prairie, Texas.

A celebration of Shannon's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at Prescott Life Church AG with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that "alms" be given in Shannon's name to Prescott Life Church, 2200 N. Highway 89, Prescott, Az., 86301.

Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with making the arrangements for the family.
