Mary Lou Howland, 79, passed away Feb. 11, 2013. She was born in Albert Lea, Minn., on July 19, 1933, to Hillis and Mary Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers David and John Anderson and son Richard Howland.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughter Luanne (Howland) Passmore and husband Randy of Mayer; grandson Kevin Passmore and wife Brittany of Prescott Valley; granddaughter Amber Passmore of Phoenix; and great granddaughter Lacey Ann Passmore.

She was most proud of and loved her family and always had a smile. She loved Arizona and her many friends through out the state.

Mary Lou moved to Arizona more than 60 years ago where she worked as a switchboard operator for Mountain Bell. She married and the family moved to Mayer where they lived on the U Cross Ranch. She loved raising her family on the ranch and enjoyed cooking for groups of people that would come and help during round-ups. She was never afraid to help brand cattle or whatever was needed.

Moving back to Phoenix, she worked for Del Webb in Sun City as a receptionist until retiring back to Mayer. She worked with the Mayer Meals on Wheels for many years until she moved to Prescott Valley, where she lived at Prescott Valley Good Samaritan Society.

A Celebration of Mary Lou's life will be at a later time for family and friends. Arrangements entrusted in Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott Valley.
