Carolyn Elizabeth Rose, age 66, passed away on Feb. 16, 2013 at Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, Ariz. surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born on Aug. 11, 1946 in San Mateo, Calif. where she attended grade school and graduated from high school. She was the general manager for Coit Drapery and Carpet Cleaners for more than 30 years.

While employed at Coit, she met the love of her life and soul mate, Jerry Slater. They married in 1989.

“Rose” was also employed at the City of Globe as a dispatcher in 1997 and retired in 2009 and moved to Apache Junction with her husband, Jerry. In Apache Junction, Rose volunteered at the Apache Junction Police Department, working evidence and the records department.

Rose loved to read. One of her favorite things to do was to read the morning paper while drinking her coffee. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, spoiling her pets and “visiting” casinos.

Rose is survived by her mother, Lillian Patterson of Arizona; and her three brothers, Robert of Colorado, Dennis of Ohio, and John Rose of California. She is preceded in death by her father, Victor Rose; and her husband, Jerry Slater.

Rose was always doing nice things for people and was a giving person and because of this her wishes were that her body be donated to the Biological Resource Center.

She wished to be cremated and not to have a service.

She and Jerry are now happily skipping together, hand-in-hand in heaven.
