GERALD F. RICHARDSON

SUN CITY - The Rev. Gerald Franklin Richardson, 80, a retired Presbyterian minister and religion professor, died July 18, 1984, at his residence, 13238 N. 100th Ave.

Mr. Richardson was born in Vershire, Vt., and moved to Arizona from Aurora in 1972. He attended Aurora College and Evangelical Theological Seminary in Illinois, where he later served as a religion professor and public relations director for 30 years. He also studied at Northern Illinois State Teachers College, Chicago Theological Seminary, Garrett Theoligical Institute and San Francisco Theological Seminary. He received a doctorate of divinity degree from Aurora.

Mr. Richardson, a minister at the First Presbyterian Church of Aurora for 61 years, was a member of the Grand Canyon Presbytery and served on the national board of the YMCA for 16 years. He received a presidential citation for service as a Red Cross field director in World War II. He was Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and member of the board of directors of Sunshine Services Inc. of Sun City.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy; daughters, Marion Wallbaum, Marjory Nelson, Nancy Pendel and Arlene Regan; sons, Robert F. and Gerald F. Richardson, Jr., Gerald B. (?) and Thomas Stormer, a brother, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, 12225 N. 103rd Ave. Memorial contributions to Sunshine Services Inc. or to the church are suggested. Menke Funeral Home made arrangements.
