Kleinkauf, Charles E. Charles E. Kleinkauf of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at his home at the age of 92. He was born in Sayre, Pennsylvania, and later graduated from George Washington University where he earned his AB and LLB degrees. He was an Assistant Secretary in the office of J. Edgar Hoover from 1935 until his appointment as a Special Agent in the FBI in 1939. From 1940 - 1941 he was a Confidential Assistant to Director Hoover. In 1941, he established the FBI office in Morristown, New Jersey, and was Senior Resident Agent in charge of Northern New Jersey from 1941 until his retirement in 1963. Charles then served as Vice President of the Trust Company of Morris County during which time he was responsible for the formation of the Security Committee of the New Jersey Bankers Association, serving as chairman for three years. In 1976, he and his wife, Natalie, retired to Sun City, Arizona, where he remained an avid golfer, bridge player and traveler until his death. Charles was a member of the Society of Former Special Agents, Spring Brook Country Club in Morristown, New Jersey, Palmbrook Country Club in Sun City, AZ, and the Sun City Elks Lodge #2559. In addition to his wife, Natalie, of Sun City, Arizona, he is survived by his two daughters: Barbara MacKenzie (Mrs. Kenneth) of Morristown, New Jersey, and Ann Gunnin (Mrs. Harry) of Jasper, Georgia; four grandchildren: Amanda Benchley (Mrs. Clayton) of New York City, New York; Kara Plante (Mrs. Thomas) of Morristown, New Jersey; Jennifer Tougas, PhD, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and John Tougas of Athens, Georgia; and four great grandchildren: Theodore and Eloise Benchley, and Annabel and Charles Plante.
