Susan Marie Romero, 65 years old, went home to the Lord on April 7, 2013. It was Devine Mercy Sunday; a beautiful day to be welcomed home.

Susan was born on May 20, 1947 in Globe, Ariz. to Fernando and Eleanor Romero. She was the youngest of three children.

She leaves behind her oldest brother, Louis Michael, who currently resides in Waterford, Calif. and her other brother, Arthur Fernando, who currently resides in Miami, Ariz. She also leaves behind her only child and daughter, Antonia Romero Manzo, who lives in Tucson, Ariz. She has two grandchildren, Mckenna Loren and Max Fernando Manzo, also from Tucson.

She took great pride in serving God through volunteer service, especially, in her local parish community. Susan was the current Vice-President of the Legion of Mary, for the Saint Margaret Mary Parish praesidium, in Chino, Calif. She was also a faithful and very dedicated traveling Eucharistic Minister. She did this until her illness made it physically impossible for her to continue. Her strong will to live, and faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends, carried her through the most difficult last weeks of her life. She fought as hard as she could till the very end.

Susan was a very warm, loving, and generous person to all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was known for her unwavering kindness and compassion for others. She had a special place in her heart, and gentle touch for any animal that ever crossed her path. Her signature gift of joy shown through her smile, sense of humor, and infectious laughter. She will be missed by many but never forgotten.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support throughout Susan’s journey. Specifically including: the wonderful staff of Country Oaks Care Center of Pomona, Calif., Nicholas Grobler M.D. and staff of Chino, Calif., Paul Gregory M.D. of Tucson, Ariz., and Terry Medina of Chino, Calif. A warm and special thank you to her daily prayer soldiers: The Legion of Mary members, Carmen Salcido, Deloris Baroldy, Barbara Caretto, Carol Heisler Garcia, Carlene Kidd, Cindy Kidd, Gena Roten, Valerie Kidd, Amy Nakabayashi, Kathy Contreras, Jennifer Madrid, Jessica Lutz, Jennifer Castaneda Perez, Danielle Padilla, Roderick Bustamante, Tim Cooper, and Paul Yanez.

The funeral mass will be presided by Fr. Patrick Kirsch, at St. Margaret Mary Parish Catholic Church in Chino, Calif. Funeral services to be determined.
