Lyle Harrington MacNee

Lyie Harrington MacNee, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. He was born August 11, 1922, in Stambough, Michigan; the son of Arthur and Vera (Harrington) MacNee. Lyie was 84 years old.

Lyie grew up hunting and fishing in the Porcupine Mountains in the Upper Peninsular of Michigan and loved to race snowmobiles.

He served his country in the Coast Guard during WWII and was only one of three survivors of his ship that was sunk by a torpedo.

Lyle worked as a superintendent for a large construction company that built hospitals, schools, office buildings and custom homes in the Phoenix area. One of his last projects before retiring was building the Ironite mines. After retiring, Lyie designed and built custom homes. He was a member of Mountain View Southern Baptist Church. He was well respected in the community and a very giving man.

Lyie is survived by his children, Cynde Phillimore and Wayne Boecker of Dewey, Ariz., Jo Picardat of Fla., Mikki Webb of Cordes Junction, Ariz., Art and Brook MacNee of Grosse Isle, Mich., Johanna and John Gotts of Idaho; grandchildren Aly, Brittany, Jessica, Lyie, Mindi, Art, Sean, Courtney, Zack, Bridget, John, Heather; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Cleave, Bob andWilma, Merle, Sally and Hazel.

A celebration of Lyie's life will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2007, at Mountain View Southern Baptist Church, 395 S. Pony Place, Dewey, Arizona.
