Arlene (Nessett) Gackle

Arlene was born in Maddock, N.D., on Sept. 22, 1934, and died April 26, 2007.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Nesset; three children, David Gackle, Beth Caldwell and Kris Ann Hinkle, and their spouses Cheryl Gackle, Tim Caldwell and Tom Hinkle; nine grandchildren, Barry, Eric and Hallie Gackle, Bryana and Maggie Caldwell, Derek and Ashley Hinkle, Abbey and Andrew Ingalls; brother-in-law Jim Johnston; two nephews, Scott and Paul Johnston; and one niece, Ann Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan E. Gackle, her father, Oscar J. Nesset, and her brother David J. Nesset.

Both here and in North Dakota, Arlene was an active member of the international women's organization PEO, dedicated to helping women advance in their education.

She moved to Prescott in 1980, helped form a new PEO chapter in 1982 and was also involved on the State level, holding the seven offices on the Arizona State Board and presided as President in 1996.

Arlene's service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at American Lutheran Church at 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott, Arizona, 86301.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Granite Mountain Hospice, PEO Chapter CO.
