Louis H. Hagler

Louis H. Hagler passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at the age of 85. He was born in Champaign, Ill., on Nov. 3, 1923. He grew up in Indiana and was nostalgic for his roots in Waynetown.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and an engineer in Arizona for 40 years. He was a volunteer archeologist to Arizona State University, in the Scottsdale area of Pinnacle Peak. He was a silversmith and a jeweler. He helped found the Desert Center. He assisted five Methodist Churches. He actively helped in the Community Outreach to homeless families so they could stay together as a family.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Hagler; three children and six grandchildren. He knew three of his great-grandchildren. He is loved and missed.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, with visitation one hour before service at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St., Prescott, Ariz.

Interment will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the National Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix, Ariz.
