Karen Amy Van Hoose, 47 of Cottonwood, passed away Feb. 6. She was born May 21, 1961 in Dixon, IL to William and Eleanor (Widolff) Van Hoose.

Karen attended St. Anne's Catholic School then went on to Dixon High School and Northern Illinois University. She worked as a sales and marketing representative in the real estate industry.

Karen was a loving mother and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed genealogy, history, hiking rappelling, outdoor cooking and camping.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents William and Eleanor. She is survived by daughter Chloe of Syracuse University, NY; brother Tom Van Hoose of Dixon, Ill.; sisters Mary Jane Heather (John) of Dixon, Ill., Emily Love (Robert) of Monticello, Wis., Lucy Hoyle (Roger) of Dixon, Ill.; two nieces and two nephews; and many friends.

Services will be held at Preston Schilling Funeral Home at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials and cards can be sent in Karen's name to Preston Schilling Funeral Home, 213 Crawford Ave, Dixon, Ill., 61021.
