The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Thursday, February 12, 2009 Ruth Owen Derrick, 94, died Feb. 9, 2009. She was born May 15, 1914, in Pueblo, Colo., to Claude C. and Maude B. Pedrick. Ruth was a graduate of Clarkdale High School. She married Joe Derrick in 1934 and started married life in Clarkdale; later, moving to Sedona to live for 39 years, before moving to Clarkdale for the remainder of her years. Ruth was a devoted wife and homemaker. She loved her family and her pets. Ruth had many hobbies; sewing, decorating her home, painting pictures and tending her plants. She loved company. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Joe; her daughter Carol Ann Cabbage and great grand-daughter Erica Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Fish of Clarkdale, grand-children Karol VandenBosch of Glenns Ferry, ID, Danni K Tilman of Cottonwood, Kim Mejia of Phoenix, Jamie K. Christensen of Kalispell, Mont., Derek Nelson of French Town, Mont. and Robin D. Grainger of Queen Creek; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous grand and great grand nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Feb. 23, 2 p.m., at Greer Mortuary, Sedona. Memorial donations in her memory can be made to Alzheimer's Association |
