| Alice Marie (Pender) Holgate Born in Anacortes, Washington on April 5, 1918. Departed on May 12, 2008 and resided in Cottonwood, Ariz. Alice Marie Holgate, age 90, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Camp Verde. She was the daughter of Ernest W. and Ethel B. (Smith) Pender; born April 5, 1918 in Anacortes, Washington. Alice was a gracious, kind woman; and throughout her career as a Registered Nurse these qualities were revealed. Her true passion and life's calling was being a joyful servant of the Lord; which enabled she and her late husband, Charles, to start churches in Kansas, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Alice attended the Verde Baptist Church and the Clarkdale Baptist Church. Alice enjoyed playing the violin, working on various crafts, and tennis. She leaves behind her nephew, Ralph Holgate and his wife, Jackie; and her sister-in-law, June Harper-all of Camp Verde. In her honor, Funeral Services will be held at the Verde Baptist Church in Cottonwood on Wednesday, May 14, 2008. Visitation will begin at 10:00am with the Funeral Service to follow at 10:45am. Following, Alice will be laid to rest at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale, Ariz. Donations, made in her name can be sent to: NICE, P.O.
