| Graydon Ray Ewald Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Nov. 11, 1924. Departed on Aug. 30, 2008 and resided in Cottonwood, Ariz. Graydon Ray Ewald, 84, Resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. He was the son of Ray and Ethel Ewald; born November 11, 1924 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Graydon was a graduate of Breck School; following which, he attended the University of Minnesota. He was also a WWII Sharpshooter and Corporal 1 with the United States Marines. Graydon dedicated thirty years to the family owned and operated Ewald Brothers Dairy. He also worked as the President of the Cario-Pulomonary Services. After moving to Arizona, he worked at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix; and then as the Director of Human Services when the VVMC was known as Marcos Lawrence Hospital. Graydon was also very involved with his community and held many memberships with various organizations; these included the Marine Corps League, 32-Degree Mason-Scottish Rite, Shrine-Shrine Mounted Patrol, Lion's Club, and Sertoma. While in Golden Valley Minnesota he was also involved in the Auxiliary Police, the American Field Services, and was the President of the Golden Valley Health Center. He also volunteered his time and efforts with the Red Cross, the Boy Scouts, and the Girl Scouts; he was part of the P.T.A., and coached Babe Ruth Baseball. Some personal interests and hobbies included hunting, fishing, wood-working, gardening and reading. Graydon is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Flynn; and his parents, Ray and Ethel Ewald. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Diane Ewald of Cottonwood; 5 sons, Clinton Ray (Judy) Ewald of St. Paul, Minn., Timothy Royce Ewald (Lori-friend) of Tempe, Ariz., Steven Christopher (Ann) Ewald of Roswell, Georgia, Randall Graydon (Terri) Ewald of Mahtomedi, Minn., and Gregory Martin (Shanlyn) Ewald of Gilbert, Ariz.; his daughter, Carolynn (Dan) McGahey of Ft. Myers, Fla.; his brother, Douglas (Ginny) Ewald of Tonka Bay, Minn.; his sister, Patricia (Douglas) Jacobsen of Hopkins, Minn.; as well as, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
