The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, October 19, 2007 Donald Philip Rainville, 73, made his transition in the early hours of Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at his home. He was born Sept. 25, 1934, in Plainville, Mass., to Louis Philippe and Eva (DeRoy) Rainville. Don was a patriot and proud of serving in the United States Navy for four years. He was even more proud of his family. After leaving the service, he and his family lived in Lakewood, Calif., where he worked as an electronic engineer for 30 years at Hughes Aircraft. A 15-year resident of Prescott, Don was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a man of honor and conviction. His interests were quiet ones; reading, crossword puzzles, music, walking and always learning something new. After retirement, volunteering became a way of life for him: He; was, both a math and literacy tutor, through AARP he did taxes for seniors, worked with Habitat for Humanity and helped at the veterans' hospital. He was treasurer of an investment club and enjoyed the "game" of managing his investments. He is survived by his wife Rita; son Steve of Lakewood, Calif.; son Paul, daughter-in-law Ginny and grandson, Adam Rainville; brother-in-law David, wife, Stella and nephews Jim, Jon and Tom. Don also left Charles and his wife, SomPom Rainville in Ohio, and Annette Ringuette, Estelle Sabean, Helen Slaney, Jeanne Strong, Lorraine Charette, Lucille Paquin, Florence and Leo and his wife Susan Rainville in Mass.; also, beloved in-laws Mary Rainville, Vincent Boianelli and 30 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Corinne Boianelli, Clare, Romeo and Edmund Rainville. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20,2007, at the Church of Spiritual Living, 3755 Willow Creek Road, Prescott, Ariz., across from Embry-Riddle University. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church of Spiritual Living or any charity of choice. Services were entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home. Information provided by survivors. |
