Florence P. Colvin

Florence P. Colvin was born in Northern Ireland on June 28, 1919, and passed away in Prescott Valley, Ariz. after a long battle with dementia and skeletal cancer on Nov. 3, 2007.

She came to the United States in 1952 and resided in New York, N.Y, where she worked for The Armstrong Daily, a sporting newspaper. She met her husband Richard in 1959 and they were wed on May 28, 1960.

Florence and Richard moved to Prescott, Ariz., in October 1990 and to Prescott Valley, Ariz. in July 2004.

Florence had been active in the O.E.S. and was active in the Elks Ladies Auxiliary of Prescott Elks Lodge #330.

Florence is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her nephew, Charles in New York City; and nephews and nieces in Northern Ireland.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Florence to either the Elks National Foundation, c/o Prescott Elks Lodge #330, P.O. Box 27199, Prescott Valley, Ariz., 86312 or to The Hospice Family Care Foundation, 1550 S. Alma School Road, #280, Mesa, Ariz., 85210.
