>> John Barton Scrivener <<
>> May 29, 1944 - April 28, 2013 <<

Born May 29, 1944-Washington DC
Passed April 28, 2013-Chino Hills, CA

John lived life to the fullest!

An avid golfer, former water ski instructor on the Colorado River, Army Special Forces Green Beret, Golden Knight Demonstration Parachute Team skydiver, pilot with notable careers at the Yuma and La Paz County Sheriff's Departments and also Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.

Once retired, John grew bored of relaxation and co-founded a private investigators firm and also worked security at American Honda located in Chino.

John will be remembered for his fun loving, tenacious, purpose driven, outgoing and lively personality. He touched the lives of nearly every person he met and will be missed greatly.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Zella Scrivener, children, son, Dean Scrivener & wife Julie (granddaughters Jaden and Ella); daughter, DeAnne Scrivener Wigginton & husband Mike (granddaughter Morgan Jane); stepson, Bobby Moody & wife Ricki (grandson Tyler, granddaughter Riley); former wife and good friend Judy Scrivener; and countless nieces, nephews and 'adopted' kids he held dear to his heart.

There wasn't a soul he wouldn't give the shirt off his back to help. Additionally, the echo of him offering unsolicited advice regarding your golf swing will keep many of you laughing for years to come.

Funeral Services to be held May 17, 2013 at 0915 hours, Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA with a memorial service to follow at the American Legion Post 299, 13759 Central Ave, Chino, CA (doors open at 1200 noon).

In honor of John, please wear red, white and/or blue (be patriotic!) or if applicable, Class A or dress uniform.
