John Eric Golden, 77, of Prescott Valley, gently passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006.

He is survived by his wife of 18-1/2 years; one son, three daughters, two step-daughters, eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

John served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1955.

He earned a double Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master in European History. He taught Special Education to Junior High Students in 1985. In 1986 he went to work at Yavapai College, where he was an English and History Professor. In 1999 he was awarded Certificate of Recognition for Achievement. He also won the Tyca West Part-Time Teaching Excellence Award in 2003.

His legacy is the YC faculty, students, friends and family whose lives he touched and changed. He is greatly missed.

Memorial will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at the VA Chapel on the VA hospital grounds in Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the charity of your choice in John's name.
