Martha Lippold Blair, Mesa, Ariz.

Graveside services for Martha Lippold Blair, 74, Mesa, Ariz., who died Oct. 26, in Mesa, were held Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Blair Chapel in eastern Madison County.

She was born near Spencer, Neb., on March 5, 1915, the third of four daughters of Bill and Anna Lippold. She grew up on a farm near Corley, Iowa and married Rex Blair in 1937 in a double wedding ceremony with her sister, Mildred.

The couple farmed the Blair place north of St. Charles after George Blair retired in 1939. They remained there until 1946. Sons Jim and Ken were born in Winterset during these years. The Blairs spent 30 years in Colorado before moving to Mesa in 1976. Rex died in 1977.

Mrs. Blair was an accomplished artist, photographer, silversmith and writer. She golfed until six months before her death.

She enjoyed many of her world travels but always had a fondness for Iowa and often visited relatives in the state.

Survivors are her sister, Irma; her sons; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Note: Burial was made in Blair Chapel Cemetery, Madison County, Iowa.
