Bruce Elvin Peterson

Bruce Elvin Peterson, son of Venice and the late Paul E. Peterson, passed away on Thursday (Feb. 19) after a lengthy illness.

Bruce was born in Scottsbluff, Neb., on July 4, 1942. He moved to Riverton, Wyo., at the age of 2 and lived on a family farm for seven years. The family moved to Wickenburg when Bruce was 10 years old, and he was a lifelong resident of the town.

He attended the Little Red Schoolhouse when it was a grammar school and graduated from Wickenburg High School.

Bruce was a professional painter in the Del Webb development. He also worked in Los Angeles, Calif., in the Ford Motor industry. He worked as a cowboy in the Castle Hot Springs area and in the Elko, Nev., area. He and his dad worked together renovating homes in the Wickenburg area.

He is survived by his mother Venice; his brothers Martin, Russell and Doug (Rosemary) and sister-in-law Jo Peterson; his son Brian (Yvette); granddaughter Chiara-Lee; nephews Jeff, Jerry, Keith (Coleen) and Jacob; nieces Erin (Steve) and Amelia; great-nephew Kade and great-nieces Miley and Clare. He also has many aunts and uncles living in the Wyoming and Nebraska area. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Elvin Peterson and brother Richard A. (Pete) Peterson.

Graveside services were handled by the Wickenburg Funeral Home and were conducted on Monday (Feb. 23).
