Clara Ann (Kuchler) Barick

Memorial Mass for Clara Ann Barick, 79, who passed away Jan. 31 in Sun City West, will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 28) at Good Shepherd of the Desert Catholic Church in Congress.

Clara was born April 8, 1929 in Cheyenne Wells, Colo., to Clarence S. Kuchler and Helen Nagangast Kuchler. She was raised there and attended schools there. She later attended the University of Colorado and earned a degree in Nursing.

Clara came to the Wickenburg/Congress area in 1983. She worked at the Wickenburg Nursing Home for years. She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd of the Desert Catholic Church and served as a Sacristan and attended daily mass quite regularly at St. Anthony’s Church in Wickenburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Barick and a daughter JoAnn Ratliff.

Clara is survived by sons Clarence Skwarczynski of Battle Ground, Wash., and Theodore Skwarczynski of Cabazon, Calif.; daughters Jean Bernett of Denver, Colo., and Kate Wagner of Congress; brothers Louis Kuchler of Congress and LeRoy Kuchler of Vernal, Utah; grandchildren Chad Slayton, Shawna Miller, Sean Dennehy, Casey Dennehy, Brian Dennehy, and Marc and Eric Skwarczynski; and several great grandchildren.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home and Crematory.
