Ruth (Powles) Bisjak

Ruth Bisjak, 94, passed away on March 23, 2007. She was born in Lost Springs, Wyoming on Oct. 1, 1912.

She was a dedicated teacher, she taught elementary school in Chino Valley for many years. She enjoyed maintaining contact with her students through the years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Hank, in 2006; her brother Bob Powles; and her sons Hank Jr. and Bobby Bisjak. She is survived by her sister, Grace Fretter of Berkeley; her daughter, Mary (John) Hunt of Prescott; daughter-in-law, Ann Bisjak of Chino Valley; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature. A memorial will be at 1 p.m. on March 31, at the Grace Baptist Church on the corner of Outer Loop and Highway 89 in Chino Valley, Ariz.

Out of her passion for early childhood education, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Prescott Head Start, 828 Rodeo Drive, Prescott, Ariz., 86301.

The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
