Robert I. Crawford Born in Bessmer, Michigan on Dec. 8, 1930. Departed on April 17, 2008 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Robert I. Crawford, 78, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Thursday, Aoril 17, 2008. He was born December 8, 1930 in Bessmer, Michigan to Edmund A. and F. Alice (Chapman) Crawford. Robert received his Doctorates of Medicine from the University of Michigan. Following which he worked for a number of facilities throughout his life; including, Traverse City Regional Psychiatic Hospital, Community Mental Health in Xenia, Ohio, and Pinerest Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also served seven years with the Wycliffe Bible Translators as a Doctor in the Mexico Branch. Robert was a United States Air Force Veteran, having served his country as a Captain. He enjoyed fishing, airplanes and old cars. Robert is preceded in death by two brothers, Ron and Jim Crawford. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Crawford, his son Ian Crawford, both of Cottonwood; two daughters, Carrie Crawford of Prescott Valley, and Beth Alice King of Lafayette, Calif.; three brothers, John (Gwen) Crawford of Grand Forks, N. D., David (Sonja) Crawford of Lyons, Mich., and Bruce (Ruth) Crawford of Kalilaska, Mich.; two sisters, Maxine (Art) Freel of Millersburg, Mich., and Joyce (Emory) Freeman of East Lansing, Mich.; as well as, three grandchildren.
