Ida M. (Larson) Lois

Mrs. J. Everett (Ida M.) Lois, 88, of Morris, Ill., passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007, in Mountain View Manor Nursing Center in Prescott, Arizona due to complications from a broken hip she suffered in a fall earlier in the month. Ida was born on Nov. 26, 1918, in Morris, Ill., the daughter of Oscar Theodore Gustof and Clara Ovida Berge Larson.

She was educated in Morris schools and a graduate of Morris High School with the class of 1936. She married John Everett Lois on Dec. 12, 1940, in Morris, Illinois.

For years, Ida was an active citizen in Morris and Grundy County serving in such local organizations as the Grundy County Historical Society, the Morris Women's Club, the American Cancer Society, First Baptist Church and the Morris Welcome Wagon. She was employed as a bookkeeper with Allan's Furniture Store in Morris and served as Grundy County Tax Assessor.

Ida is survived by three sons, Richard (Michele) Lois of Texas, Thomas (Laura) Lois of Arizona, and James (Carla) Lois of Arizona; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Todd) Seman of Florida, Heather (Craig) Keller of Florida, Stephanie (Steven) Fargo of Aviano, Italy, Jason (Gladys) Lois of Virginia, Hilary (John Robertson) Lois of Virginia, Noah (Melanie) Pincusoff of Georgia, and Evan Pincusoff of Arizona; one great-grandson, Brett Fargo; one sister, Betty Lou Van Tassel of Morris, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Alice Larson of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; her husband on Dec. 9, 1995; and two brothers, Lloyd and Oscar Larson.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007, at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home, LTD., 301 W. Washington Street, Morris, Illinois, with Rev. Rick

Cunningham officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorial gifts can be directed to the Morris Lions Club Park Shelter fund. U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
