The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, May 29, 2007 Vera Marcoux, 92, passed away May 26, 2007 at a local care home in Prescott. She was born August 18, 1914 in Everett, Massachusetts. A gathering of friends and celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. June 4, 2007 at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez Street, Prescott, Arizona. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 Grove Ave., Suite B, Prescott, Az., 86301. Hampton Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements. ---------------------------------- The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, May 31, 2007 Vera E. Marcoux Vera E. Marcoux was born August 18, 1914, to Jane and Augustus Oles, in Everett, Mass., and died May 26, 2007, in Prescott, Ariz. Vera married Joseph A. Marcoux on July 3, 1934, in Everett, Mass. Vera and Joe had one child, their daughter, Marguerite. In the early '60s, they moved to California and in November of 1995 to Prescott. They celebrated 67 years of marriage in 2001. Joe predeceased Vera in July 2001. Vera began oil painting in her mid 50s and became an accomplished artist. Although she was happiest while painting, her other interests included singing, square and round dancing with Joe as her partner, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Survivors include her daughter, Marguerite Gilbert Powers of Prescott; sister Lisa Bianco Flavell of Prescott; grandchildren, Steven Gilbert of Tehachapi, Calif., Michael Gilbert of Ithaca, New York, Diane Schaeffler of Spokane, Wash., and David Gilbert of Spokane; great-grandchildren, Danny Gilbert, Tammy Hargett, Katelyn Schaeffler and Amelia Gilbert. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at Hampton Funeral Home. Burial immediately following at Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 Grove Ave., Suite B, Prescott, Ariz., 86301.
