The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, May 31, 2007 Donald E. Bragg, age 90, a 20-year resident of Prescott passed away May 20, 2007. He was born on March 17, 1917, in Marion, Iowa, son of Major and Ina Bragg. Don graduated from Marion High School where he played the trombone. Don loved his music and played with many of the big bands of that era. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and played with the Navy Band. While serving on an aircraft carrier, they came under attack. He suffered severe burns and was decorated for his actions on that day. Upon leaving the Navy, he returned to Marion and was hired by General Electric. He retired as a district sales manager after 35 years. Upon retiring, he always stayed busy, enjoying his music and often sitting in with local bands of the area. He kept busy at home with his many projects never hesitating to help others, he was very innovative and always had a new idea. When Don could no longer play his trombone, he donated it to the music department at Prescott High School. Don will be missed by his many friends. Don was preceded in death by his first wife Ramona in 1978 and is survived by his current wife of 23 years, Kathleen. No services are planned. Information provided by survivors. |
