John Marshall Wallin, 83, died March 22, 2007, at Verde Valley Medical Center. John was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Elkhart, Ind. He was in Air Force cadet pilot training from July 1942 to November 1945. January 1946, he enrolled at Ohio State University and received his BS and MS in Chemical Engineering. In 1949, he worked as a chemist in the petroleum industry, retiring in 1985.

His most recent goal was to try to get Christians registered to vote and to the polls to vote for Christian leaders for our country.

He is survived by one son, Craig Marshall (Laurie), of LeRoy, Mich.; one daughter Christy Lee Caplener (Kevin), Santa Maria, Calif.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two stepsons Mike Whitworth (Victoria), Wichita, Kan., and Steve Whitworth (Karen), Stillwater, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Cassie Register, Sarasota, Fla., and Gina Larcom (Jim) Cary, N.C.; 14 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Good Friday, April 6, at the Verde Valley Baptist Church, 102 Willard St., Cottonwood, Ariz.
