Eugene E. Lavine, 77, of Cottonwood, Ariz., died March 14, 2007. He was born on Nov. 15, 1929, in Thetford, Vt., to Eli and Albina (Derouche) Lavine.

Eugene was a 1946 graduate of Central High School in Parishville, N.Y. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a corporal. Eugene also served as president of the Old Time Fiddlers Association.

His children write: "Our father was a kind, just man with strong values, integrity and faith. His love for his children, friends, and family was always honest and heartfelt. Dad enjoyed life to the fullest, especially as he built and played his beloved country fiddles. His humor and quick wit will be missed greatly by everyone who knew and loved him. We will honor his memory always."

He leaves behind two sons, Sean Paul Lavine (Melinda) of Queen Creek, Ariz. and Randy J. Lavine (Robin) of Mesa, Ariz.; his daughter, Deborah A. Green (Vernon) of Phoenix; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
