| The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Friday, March 30, 2007 Walter J. Hess, 92, of Cottonwood, Ariz., died March 27, 2007. He was born Jan. 25, 1915, in Kansas City, Mo., to Sigmund and Carline (Tschopp) Hess. Walter worked along side his father at the family-owned Hess Furniture Studio in Phoenix. After the passing of his father, Walter took over ownership. He was married to the late Marie Hess. Walter leaves behind his son, Stephen Hess (Renate); his daughter, Alice Klies (Ray); four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 31, at 11 a.m. at the Verde Valley Baptist Church. Donations can be sent to: RTA Hospice, 70 Bell Rock Plaza, Sedona Ariz., 86331.
