Virgie Irene (Smith) Selph

Virgie Selph, 93, of Chino Valley, Ariz., peacefully passed away on Feb. 25, 2009, at Hospice of Arizona Care Center of Chandler. Virgie was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Mt. Vernon, Texas, the daughter of Willy Clifton and Bertha (Harris) Smith.

Virgie married her beloved husband, Loys "Curly," on Oct. 14, 1933. Curly preceded her in death, June 29, 2003. She was also preceded by her daughter, Versie, and son Bobbie. She is survived by daughter Peggy, son-in-law Ray, and daughter-in-law JoAnn.

She was devoted to her family, which includes six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Arizona for the loving care and attention they extended.

A celebration of her life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, with visitation a half-hour before at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez, followed by burial at Chino Valley Cemeter, Chino Valley, Arizona.
