Marilyn Aileen McGregor

With mixed feelings of great joy and deep sadness, the family of Marilyn Aileen McGregor announces her passing the morning of December 24th, 2010.

Marilyn was born in New Westminster, British Columbia on February 27th, 1929 to Evelyn and James R. McLellan.

She moved with her family to the U.S. in 1933. As a child, Marilyn lived in Skykomish, Blaine, and Seattle, Washington, Klamath Falls, Oregon, and Great Falls, Montana.

She was married to Norval E. McGregor in 1947 until his death in 1971. She never remarried.

After her children were grown, Marilyn left Great Falls and moved to Sacramento, California. She moved to Yuma in 1993 to be closer to her family.

Marilyn loved to play bridge and was active in numerous bridge groups. She also enjoyed cooking and baking pies for her family. Marilyn had a keen wit, was full of life and loved to laugh. She was a good friend and had many longstanding friendships. Marilyn was a devout Christian and read her bible every morning. She was a loving mom, sister, aunt, and grandma.

Marilyn will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law Scott and Denise McGregor of Yuma, her daughter Bonnie McGregor of Seattle, Washington, her son Brian Mcgregor of Yuma, her sister Madge Jones of Yuma, her grandchildren Brandon and Heather Sweet of Yuma, Ian and Kristen McGregor of Seattle, Christopher McGregor of Yuma, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her dog Dusty. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Norval and her sister, Jacquie Larson of Sacramento California.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Marilyn McGregor at her home church, First Christian Church 3261 S Avenue 6 E, Yuma Tuesday, January 4th. Interment will be in Montana at a later date. Memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Yuma or the Yuma Humane Society.
