L. M. "Jack" Armstrong 77, of Cornville, AZ died December 26, 2005. Born December 28, 1927 in Wall Lake, Iowa, he served in the U. S. Navy in WWII & graduated from the University of Iowa. He & his wife, Carlene, moved to Phoenix in 1953, & to Northern Arizona in 1980. In 1985, they purchased a 10-acre property in Cornville, & on it co-founded Rusty's Morningstar Ranch, a residential facility for autistic adults. RMR is named for his son, Rusty, who suffers from autism. The "Ranchers" care for the animals and grounds. Jack served as VP of the Board of RMR until 2003, & as a Director until his death. Mr. Armstrong is survived by a daughter, Terri Siddons & her husband, George, of Glendale, AZ; four sons; Richard L. Armstrong & Mary of Garland, TX: Robin B. Armstrong & Judith of Studio City, CA; Reed A. Armstrong of NY, NY & Rusty Armstrong of Cornville, AZ; a brother, F. Wayne Armstrong of Columbus, Ohio; a sister Flora Eileen Bozzone of Saxonburg, PA, & 5 grandchildren. His wife, Carlene Armstrong & a brother Emmett Armstrong predecease him. Services were private.
