SHIRLEY FAITH BUSH, Green Valley, Ariz.

Shirley Bush passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2003 in Tucson, Arizona. She was 84 years old. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Allen Bush.

Shirley was born in Winterset, Iowa and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended the University of Iowa, where she met her husband Ernie. A long time resident of Boone, Iowa, she raised her own family there, before retiring to Greers Ferry, Arkansas and then Green Valley, Arizona. Shirley loved to spend time with her family, visiting, cooking, sewing, gardening, music, swimming and playing tennis. She was the center of her family, weaving many lives into one common thread through love and understanding. Shirley’s inner beauty was a shining example for us all.

Shirley is survived by one brother, Robert Rollstin of Fort Meyers, Florida; son Robert David Bush (Kathy) of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Catherine Yvonne Weber of Green Valley, Arizona; son, Stephen Michael Bush (Linda) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri,; daughter, Deborah Lynn George (Dick) of Mount Vernon, Iowa; and son Alan Roger Bush (Jerilynn) of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Cooper Bush. Carter Bush, Claire Weber, Alaric Weber, Marcus Bush, Wes Bush, Travis Bush, Geoff George, Cathy George and Joey Bush; and by seven great-grandchildren, Kevin, Kayleigh, Mallory, Tara, Avery, Carson and Lindsey Bush.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at Green Valley Community Church in Green Valley, Arizona. Her remains will be buried next to those of her husband in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. An interment service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Remembrances in lieu of flowers may be made in her name to the Green Valley Community Church Foundation Incorporated.
