| Craig W. Lacey, Sr. Born in Cottonwood, Arizona on July 24, 1948. Departed on Aug. 7, 2003 and resided in Camp Verde, Ariz. Craig W. Lacey, Sr., 55, of Camp Verde, Ariz., passed away August 7, 2003 at the home of his parents, Wilford and Esther Lacey in Camp Verde. Besides his parents, Craig leaves one son, Craig W. Lacey, Jr.; one granddaughter, Cheyenne Lacey, Congress, Ariz.; two step-sons, Jack Lockett in the US Military service and John Thornbrew of Cottonwood; three sisters, Anna J. Weems, Camp Verde, Lou E. Lawrence, Assumption, Ill. and Tari F. Kirby, Camp Verde; one brother Justen Kent Lacey, Wickiup, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, also great-greatnieces great-greatnephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilford Stephen Lacey. Craig's life was the outdoor life. He liked working with heavy equipment, but his love was horses, mules and cattle. Craig went on his real first cattle drive at the age of 15. He helped roundup and drive the herd from the Brown Spring Ranch south of Camp Verde to the summer range on the Mogollan Rim Country. The very same trail his Dad drove cattle on in the 1930's. Harmon DuFresne was the cattle ranch owner. Craig loved the cowboy life and his last two years was a wrangler with Bill Jones for the Yavapai-Apache Nation Horseback Tour operation in Camp Verde. In May of this year, Craig went to the White Mountains Indian Reservation to work as a wrangler. This is where he became very ill and could no longer work. Craig served five years in the military, some of this time was in Korea. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 11 in the Westcott Funeral Home, 631 S. 1st Ave, Camp Verde from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m..
