Leon E. Guinn Born in Paden, Oklahoma on Aug. 8, 1922 Departed on Nov. 28, 2005 and resided in Cottonwood, Ariz. Leon E. Guinn, 83, resident of Cottonwood, passed away Monday November 28, 2005. Leon was born August 8, 1922 in Paden, Oklahoma to Daniel Webster and Easter Hazel (Newton) Guinn. Leon worked in the construction business. He owned a gravel plant, and as a home builder he was able to utilize his skills as mason and and fireplace specialist. Leon served his country during WWII in the U.S. Marine Corps. Leon was a member of the LDS Church. He served in many capacities, which included Sunday School President, MIA President and a teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood. Leon was also a part of a Western Band, writing songs, singing and playing the guitar. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and hiking. Leon is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Roberta (Bobbie); his infant son, Bruce; 2 brothers; Henry and James (Jimmie) and 2 sisters, Pauline and Bonnie. He leaves behind 2 sons, Mickey (Wanda) Guinn of Calif. and Bill (Sue) of Utah; brother, Harley (Doris) Guinn of Ariz.; 2 sisters, Lucille (Bill) Scott and Loretta (Gene) Scott, both of Calif.; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held in Leon's honor at the Valley View Cemetery on Friday, December 2, 2005 at 1:00 pm.
