Delia P. (Coover) Wing

Delia P. Wing went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 13, 2006, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on November 25, 1934, to Arthur and Violet Coover.

Delia had lived in Prescott since 1971. She was a vital part of the Yavapai County Library District from 1977 until she retired in 1996 -processing and delivering books to the branch libraries, and assisting with training librarians.

Delia was a loving wife and wonderful mother who loved camping and fishing with her husband, Bob, spending time with her family and friends, reading books, and scenic drives in Oak Creek Canyon.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bob Wing; children, David (Brenda) Gilbert of Wash., Rebecca Medina of Prescott, Don Gilbert of Calif., Sue Wussow of Phoenix, Arthur (Cathy) Gilbert of Colo., Judy (Winfield) Scott of Texas, Rae Lynn (Kent) Miller of Phoenix, Alan (Margaret) Wing of Maricopa and Carla (John) Beyea of Dewey, Ariz.

She is also survived by brothers and sisters; Treva (Gale) Grunigen of N.J., Roy (Janice) Coover, and Arlene Lenker of Pa., 26 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Paul Coover, and sister Jean (George) Frederick.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Prescott United Methodist Church on March 15, 2006, at noon, a viewing will precede the service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the YRMC Hospice.

Heritage Memory was entrusted with arrangements.
