Born in Dos Palos, California on Nov. 7, 1932.
Departed on Aug. 8, 2007 and resided in Cottonwood, Ariz.

Harlan Ross Jones, 30 year resident of the Verde Valley, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in Cottonwood. Harlan was born November 7, 1932 in Dos Palos, California - the youngest of nine children.

Harlan served his country in the United States Navy. On May 14, 1955, He married Phyllis; and together they raised four children; Lloyd, Katie, Helene, and Mike. Harlan retired as a Sergeant from the Arizona Highway Patrol and Department of Public Safety. After his retirement, he served as the City Magistrate for the town of Clarkdale, Ariz.

Harlan is preceded in death by Phyllis, who passed away in 1990.

Four brothers and two sisters mourn the loss of their youngest sibling. Harlan also leaves behind his four children; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild and his second wife, Margaret, whom he married in 1992.

Harlan touched the lives of many people and he will be deeply missed by family and friends.

A private graveside service is planned, at which time Harlan will be interred next to Phyllis.
