James A. Jones Born in Iowa City, Iowa on Feb. 24, 1918. Departed on May 22, 2006 and resided in Cottonwood, Ariz. James A. Jones, 88, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2006. James was born on February 24, 1918 in Iowa City, Iowa to Fred and Lillian Jones. James attended and graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS BA Degree. James also served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and received the St. Flying Cross Medal. Professionally, James was employed with Lenox China, from where he retired. James enjoyed playing golf and was involved with the Handicap 3, and he also enjoyed playing bridge, in which he earned master points. He was also a member of the Lutheran Faith. More than anything, James was a loving father and a dedicated husband. James is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gladys Ross. He leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, Lorraine Jones, of Cottonwood, Arizona; his son, James (Jim) Jones, Jr., wife, Donna, of Prescott, Ariz.; his daughters, Barbara, husband, George, of Cucumonga, Calif. and Susan of Paris, France; his step-children, Cathy, Jim and John of Alaska and Cindy of New Orleans, La.; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
