Born in Mesa, Arizona on July 15, 1940.
Departed on Nov. 17, 2005 and resided in Camp Verde, Ariz.

Carole Ann Jones, 65 of Camp Verde, died on November 17, 2005. She was born July 15, 1940 in Mesa, Arizona to Otho("Bo) Jones and Georgia Mitchell Jones.

Carole Ann graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 1958. She then attended nurses training at St. Joseph's in Phoenix. She moved to the Verde Valley in 1972 and began working at what was then Marcus J. Lawrence Hospital until she took medical retirement in 1995.

Carole Ann was instrumental in founding the "Happy Huggers", a branch of the Reach for Recovery cancer support group in the Verde Valley. She was a breast cancer survivor and felt her calling was to support group and encourage other women who faced the same diagnosis.

Carole Ann's sense of humor was her methods for coping with obstacles in life. She brought smiles and laughter to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter who died at birth; her sister Elsie Ballam, of Camp Verde and her brother Richard Jones, of Taylor, Arizona.

She is survived by eleven nieces and nephews and many dear and precious friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
