| V. Joanne (Davis) Schmidt Born in Maryville, Missouri on Oct. 11, 1933. Departed on Dec. 22, 2003 and resided in Sedona, Ariz. V. Joanne (Davis) Schmidt, 70, a resident of Sedona, Arizona died December 22. She was born October 11, 1933 in Maryville, Missouri. She grew up and attended high school in Strawberry Point, Iowa. After graduation she attended Mount Mercy College of Nursing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she obtained her nursing degree. She specialized in mental health nursing, first at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City and then at Foote Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. On November 24, 1954, she married LeRoy M. Schmidt. To this union three children were born, Barbara Jo Clark of Albuquerque, N. M., Deborah Kay Peltz, and Thomas Matthew Schmidt, both of Phoenix. She also leaves a sister Lorraine Hill of Winston-Salem, N. C. and a brother Mark Davis of Savannah, Ga., and two grandchildren, Griffen and Alisha Peltz. She was a loving caring person who liked to read books, and she volunteered with the Verde Valley Caregivers. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
