Virginia Rider Scott

Born in Okemah, Oklahoma on Nov. 30, 1907.
Departed on Sept. 26, 2004 and resided in Cottonwood, Ariz.

Virginia Rider Scott, 96, of Cottonwood died September 26. She was born in Okemak, Oklahoma on November 30, 1907.

She received an Albion Idaho Teaching diploma and also Bachelors degree Education and economics. She was a retired teacher in Elko, Nevada.

She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and belonged to and was an officer in many community organizations.

Mrs. Scott was a seamstress, herded cattle, owned a cattle ranch in Northern Nevada, was a carpenter and a classical pianist.

Preceding her death were two husbands, John Rider, who died in 1946 and Mark Scott who died in 1965; a son, David N. Rider; a daughter Janice Rider Rudeseal, both of whom had lived in Las Vegas; and seven brothers. She is survived by seven grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 7 in the Cottonwood Cemetery at 1 p.m.
