The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, March 20, 2009 Carl C. Conradt, 85 of Cottonwood, died March 16, 2009. Carl was born in West Point, Iowa on July 7, 1923. Mr. Conradt was a World War II combat veteran having served in Normandy, France, Belgium and Germany as an army corporal. He resided in Iowa until moving his family to Prescott, Ariz. in 1966. While working for Santa Fe Railroad, Carl resided in California and Kansas. Carl retired to Cottonwood, Ariz. in 1999. He will be remembered as a loving, caring father. Carl was a very empathetic person who truly enjoyed being with people. He is survived by daughters, Nancy (Mark) Mahowald of Flagstaff, Carla Conradt of Phoenix, Jan (Denny) Eakle of Kingston, Okla., Barbara Conradt of Prescott, Rita Hicks of Prescott; and son Ken Conradt of New York City, N.Y.; his sister Gertrude Ketcham of Fort Madison, Iowa; brother Tom (Marilyn) Conradt of Kansas City, Kan.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and residents of Austin House in Cottonwood, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl's memory to Austin House, 195 S. Willard St., Cottonwood, Ariz. A memorial service with military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the Prescott National Cemetery in Prescott, Ariz.
