Posted 2014-01-24 by Pat Wilson
Gerald Alva Morgan, Jerry Morgan, son of Virgil and Irene Morgan of Everett, WA perished Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at age 55 in a tragic helicopter accident near his Everett home.

Jerry graduated from Everett High in 1965 and served in the Navy as a nuclear warfare specialist on the USS Oriskany from 1967 to 1969. After the Navy, he earned a business degree from Western Washington University and became an instrument rated, single and multi engine aircraft and helicopter pilot.

His passion for flying led him to become co-owner and manager of Valley Aerostar Corporation in Santa Ynez, California, and later, owner and President of Vertical Operations, a commercial turbine helicopter company based in Phoenix, Arizona. In the mid-80's Jerry embarked on a career as a successful real estate developer in Arizona and Washington. Jerry divided his time between the northwest and the Phoenix desert.

He and his twenty year love, Sandy Omer, enjoyed hiking, jogging and quading in both areas. His sense of humor and his passion for crab feasts and bonfires with friends and family will be long remembered.

Jerry is survived by Sandy Omer of Phoenix, his daughters and sons-in law, Teri & Brian Johnson of Seattle, Elizabeth Lightfoot and Bill Plummer of St. Paul, Minnesota, his three grandchildren, his parents and his brothers.
