LuVerne "Sam" A. Olson, formerly of Minnesota, passed away on March 7, 2009, at the age of 83.

Sam is survived by his wife Rosemary; six children; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.

A Celebration Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury in Prescott with military honors by the American Legion Post 6.

Inurnment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minnesota.

The family suggests memorials to Yavapai Humane Society, 1625 Sundog, Prescott, Ariz., 86301, or St. Vincent De Paul Society, 150 Fleury, Prescott, Ariz., 86301.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family.

LuVerne A. Olson “Sam” 1926-2009, formerly of Minnesota passed away on March 7, 2009 at the age of 83.

Sam is survived by his wife Rosemary, children; Cynthia (Steven) Kramer of Hastings, Minn., Barbara (Larry) Ostertag of Afton, Minn., RoseAnn (Jeff) Anderson of Hastings, Minn., Christine (Tim) Armstrong of Stillwater, Minn., Scott (Chris) Olson of Cottage Grove, Minn., and Patricia (Kyle) Lindquist of Cottage Grove, Minn., grandchildren; Michael, Adam, Kelly, Carl, Cassandra, Nicholas, Paul, Jessica, Brooke, Amanda, Leah, Abbey, Andrew, Hunter, Samantha, Lucas, Mark, Katie, and April, great-grandchildren; Riley and Baby Kramer, brothers; Frank Olson of Bonita, Calif., Ray (Jan) Olson of Mesa, Ariz., Maury (Joan) Olson of Palm Desert, Calif., and Edward (Lorraine) Olson of Rossmore, CA, sisters; Helen Bly of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Beatrice Grove of Gladwin, Mich. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Sam was a member of the American Legion Post 6. He enjoyed art, gardening, reading, and woodworking. Sam was most proud of his 19 grandchildren.
