Helen Dalton, or Patti as she liked to be called, passed away on March 5, 2009. She was born on Jan. 20, 1922 in Sherburne, N.Y. to Leslie and Nannie Palmer.

Patti moved to Whittier, Calif. in 1956 with her family of three girls and one boy. Another daughter, Terri, was born after moving to Whittier. Patti retired from Hughes Aircraft at age 59 and took up golf for the first time. She loved getting out in the fresh air and always walked the course, no carts for her. She continued to work part time until the age of 70 and was still talking about getting a job well into her 80s.

In 1996, she met Gene Decker, who was her constant companion until her death. They moved to Prescott in 2006 and made many friends playing cards and through their church.

Patti was preceded in death by her two sons, Joseph and John who we know are so happy to have their Mom with them again.

Patti is survived by her daughters, Patti Moore and Nancy Osborne of Prescott, Cindy Forney of Whittier, Calif. and Terri Alva of Portland, Ore., four grandchildren and three great-children, her niece Shirley Baskin of Prescott and her beloved Gene Decker.

A celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the United Methodist Church, Prescott, Ariz.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted with the final arrangements and the family would like to thank Hospice of the Pines for their caring in Patti's last days.
