Urban Moroni Harenberg

Urban Moroni Harenberg, 96, passed away March 4, 2006, at his home in Chino Valley, where he has lived with his family for the last three-and-a-half years. He was born December 16, 1909 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Gerard Harenberg and Marea Wilhelmina Jansen. He married Ora LaVaun Nelson on Dec. 13, 1939, in Salt lake City.

Urban did many things during the depression years to earn a living including mining, ranching, breaking horses, building and working for the Buehner Block Co. in Salt Lake and the Forest Service in Flagstaff, where he finally settled and lived for more than 50.

During that time he owned and operated the Harenberg Block Plant for almost 30 years. They sold the company in 1973. He was involved with the Rotary Club for many years and never liked to miss a meeting.

He is survived by a sister; Grace Crosland, who lives in Utah; children, Terra Merrill, Ray Harenberg, and Ora Marcroft all of Chino Valley; 12 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild, many cousins nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years LaVaun, brothers Jack Harenberg, Bill Harenberg, Sylvan Harenberg and sisters, Nancy Stiener and Helen Steele.

The family would like to thank Hospice Family Care for all the kind and loving care they gave our Dad.

Services will be held at the LDS Church at 441 Perkinsville Road in Chino Valley on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at 3 p.m. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service in the Relief Society Room.

Chino Valley Funeral Home is caring for the family.
