James Orha (J.O.) Brownlow

James Otha (J.O.) Brownlow was born in 1906 in Atthens, Texas. He entered into rest March 15, 2006.

J.O.'s parents were Lonnie & Georgia Brownlow, but his dad passed away before he was born. Later his mother married Dave Cokendolpher who was a loving step-dad and they gave J.O four brothers and one sister.

In 1927 he married Lillian Gattis and they farmed in Texas while raising their three children Doris Brownlow Smith (Bud) deceased, son, Gheral (Carol), Daria Brownlow Oberdank (deceased) Bob. The family moved to Phoenix in 1946 and J. O. drove for Sun Valley Bus Lines.

Lillian (deceased) was a cafeteria manager at Rose Lane School. They had 71 happy years together and out of this wedlock they have 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

They were members of North Phoenix Baptist Church. The last 9 years he lived in Sun City, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers make donations to Hospice of Arizona, 2222 W. Northern Ave., Suite A-100, Phoenix, Ariz., 85021.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., March 22, 2006, at Greenwood Memory Lawn Chapel, 719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, Ariz.
