Celia “Sally” Lobato Cons, 75, passed away on March 15, 2014, from the complications of a few strokes over the past three years. She left this world encircled by loved ones.

Sally was born in Miami, Ariz. on Nov. 19, 1938 as the youngest daughter of Presciliano Lobato and Luz Lugo Lobato.

She attended Bullion Plaza School and Miami High School. She then left Miami for Los Angeles, Calif. to work and make her way in the world.

Sally met and married Reggie A. Cons on Dec. 16, 1959 and they had six children. She was known for always taking in ‘strays’ along the way (human and animal). Sally and Reggie retired to Miami in 1998. She always wanted to come home.

Sally is survived by five children, Reggie Cons, Jr. of Temple City, Calif., Mark Cons of Blythe, Calif., Christopher Cons of Glendale, Calif., Yvette Cons Roque (Scott) of Covina, Calif., and Darrick Cons of Miami. Sally is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris Jr., Briana, Janaye, Royce, Amanda, Josh, Danielle, Tiffany, Chris and Loren. She also has two great-grandchildren, Jazelle and Dominic.

Sally loved and adored her many nieces and nephews very much.

Sally is survived by her sister, Lucy Rivera (Arthur) of Miami, Louie Lobato (Jackie) of Globe, and Alfred Lobato (Betty) of Pico Rivera, Calif.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lorenzo Lobato (Mercy) and Raymond Lobato (Christie); daughter, Mary Helen; and granddaughter, Asia Cons.

Sally was known for her fierce love of family and for always speaking her mind in moments of adversity. The last three years were especially recognized as ‘Bonus Time’ with her and we were blessed.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, with Mass beginning at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 844 W. Sullivan St., Miami, Ariz. Mass will be followed by a reception at the meeting hall adjacent to the church.
