The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, March 18, 2007 Beverly F. Harker-Baker of Prescott and Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on March 12, three days past her 83rd birthday. Beverly left a grieving husband, Claude Baker; five step-children, Larry Harker, Gretchen, Manson and Janine Evans, from her marriage to Donald Harker; and Patti Jo Davis and Tracy Holohan, from her marriage to Claude Baker. --------------------------------- The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Saturday, March 18, 2007 Beverly F. Harker-Baker, of Prescott and Phoenix, Arizona passed away on March 12 three days past her 83rd birthday. Beverly and her older sister Barbara were brought to Prescott at six months of age from Indiana and she spent most of her adult life in the Prescott area. Beverly was a registered nurse with degrees from both Arizona State and the University of Arizona. Her early career in nursing saw her help set the standards for appropriate nursing care in nursing and convalescent care homes. With degrees in adult education she helped found the Yavapai Learning Institute, now OLLI Lifelong Learning Institute, and served as Historian, Curriculum Committee Chair and then President in 1996. Beverly facilitated many classes in the area of religion, art and her great love, Egypt. Considered one of the leading experts on Middle Eastern art and culture, Beverly taught on many tours to Egypt in conjunction with TraveLearn, and on her own. Beverly will be missed by the many organizations in Prescott and Phoenix she graced with her presence and hard work. Beverly left a grieving husband, Claude Baker, five step children, Larry Harker, Gretchen Manson, and Janine Evans, from her marriage to Donald Harker and Patti Jo Davis and Tracy Holohan, from her marriage to Claude Baker, seventeen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren, her nephew John Stallings and his daughters Ashley and Whitney of Prescott, and thousands of friends around the world. Memorial services will be held in the Unity Church, 145 Arizona Avenue, Prescott on Friday, March 23, at 1:00 p.m., Reverend Tom Catlin will preside.
