Earlham Library Obituary Collection, Earlham, Iowa February 1999 Esther Arlene Leeper, 74, of Mesa, Ariz., died Feb. 6, 1999, at her residence. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Mesa, followed by a gathering for family and friends at Fountain of the Sun. Esther Leeper was born Dec. 28, 1924, to Ben and Anna Taylor of Earlham. She married Lyle Leeper on Jan. 7, 1945. From 1954 until their retirement in 1985, Esther and Lyle made their living farming (southwest of Earlham). Following retirement, they moved to Mesa and resided at Fountain of the Sun. Esther was an active member of the 18-Hole Ladies Golf Association. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Steve Leeper of Urbandale, Rick Leeper (wife Laurie Briggs) of Earlham and Randy Leeper (wife Patricia); four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. |
