Stevens, age 28, who passed away December 25 were held on Friday (Dec. 28) at 10 a.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Jake was born in Minneapolis, Minn., and raised in Wickenburg. In his youth he was active in Pop-Warner football and other sporting activities. He began working construction with his father primarily in woodworking and had worked for various other cabinet-making companies in the area. He enjoyed the outdoors, dirt bike riding, Western dancing, and was considered by his friends and many who knew him to be larger than life in many ways. He had a witty, dry sense of humor. Jake is survived by a son Mathew Stevens of Phoenix and his parents Terry Stevens (Janet) of Wittmann, and Julie Cromwell (Merrick) of Peoria; sisters Christina Cram (Ben) of Peoria and Shannon McGowan also of Peoria; maternal grandparents Mary and Neil Judkins of Wickenburg, Mike and Karen Donahue of Tucson, Ariz.; paternal grandparents Kenneth and Charlotte Stevens of Maple Plain, Minn.; several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home and Crematory. |
